Out of 261 missing 38 from Dhaka alone

Over 260 people went missing from different districts of Bangladesh and of them 38 are from Dhaka alone. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the country's elite security force, revealed this in its Facebook page on Wednesday. Age of those missing people, including rickshaw puller, student, air pilot and doctor, is between 18 and 35, according to the RAB's list. The list consists of missing people from different districts of the country, but the highest number was from the metropolis Dhaka.The missing youths from Dhaka are: Rihab, Sagor, Riyad, Romeo, Tehjib Karim, Shabbir Hossain Shuvo, Md Sazzad Rouf, Mahmudul Ahsan Ratul,     Mahmudur Rahman Kajol, Saiful Islam Shakil, Omar Hasan Babu alias Shahjalal, Mohammad Anis Hawlader, Md Siddique Ali, Monowar Hossain Sabuj, Sadman Hossain, Afif Mansif Chowdhury, Imtiaz Talukder, Shamim Redwan, Junun Shikdar, Moinuddin Sharif,  Akram Hossain alias Hasib alias Abdullah, Tahmid Rahman Shafi, Tausif Hossain, Nahid Reza Tushar, Ashequr Rahman, Shehzad Rouf alias Orko, Tousif Hossain Khan, Waki Chowdhury, Junaid Khan, Jubaidur Rahim, Ashraf Mohammad Islam, Julhas Skeikh, Md Abdul Hannan, Abu Musa, Md Mostahar, Md Habibullah, Md Basaruzzaman and Ibrahim Hasan Khan.RAB listed one Abu Musa of Jatrabari in its missing directory. When asked, Md Anisur Rahman, Officer In-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station told The New Nation yesterday that they did not know anything about the person (Musa) because none has so far filed general diary (GD) about his disappearance."We are trying track the city's missing persons and the concerned agencies are investigating on why they have been missing," Abdul Baten, Joint Commissioner of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told The New Nation on Wednesday.He said those who involved in militancy after missing have been asked to return to their families willingly. "If they do not return to their families, they will be brought to justice," he warned. Asked about the list, RAB spokesman Mufti Mahmud Khan told The New Nation yesterday that it was prepared based on dairies by the families of the missing persons and from the field level intelligence gathering. "We have launched massive hunt for their hideouts… We have to find them," he added. Mufti Mahmud, however, declined to comment on whether the people listed had joined extremists groups at home or abroad. "Investigation is on to find out their militancy links," he said.
