BAUJA gets new committee

A 15-member executive committee of Bangladesh Agricultural University Journalists' Association (BAUJA) has been formed on Tuesday night for the year 2017.
S.M. Ashiful Islam Maruf of daily Jugantor and Md Yousuf Ali of Alokito Bangladesh were elected President and General Secretary, respectively.
Other members of the committee are-Shaheeduzzaman Sagor of Prothom Alo as Vice-president, Mofazzal Hossain of Janakantha as joint secretary, Mahdi Hasan of Daily Sun as Organizing Secretary, Najib Mubin of Ittefaq as treasurer, Md Auwal Mia of daily Jaijaidin as Office Secretary, Musfiqur Rahman Sifat of daily Observer as Press and Publication Secretary, Md Nabil Tahmid of banglanews24.com as Information and Technology Secretary, Md Shahin Sardar of Protidiner Songbad as Sports and Cultural Secretary.
Abul Bashar Meraz of Kalerkantho, Ahad Alam Shihab of Samakal and Md Ashraful Alam of Daily Inqilab were elected as members and Md Hatem Ali of Daily New Age, Imrul Kaes Mirza Kiran of The Independent was elected as executive members of the newly formed committee.
The election was held at BAUJA office  at Teacher Student Centre (TSC), on Tuesday night while its outgoing president Md Hatem Ali acted as the chief election commission and two  members of BAUJA Din Mohammad Dinu and Md Jewel Alam were the assistant election commissioners.
 BAU VC Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar, BAU Students affair Adviser Prof Dr SD Chowdhury, Proctor Prof Dr AKM Zakir Hossain, different voluntary and political organizations of the university and different University Journalists' Association welcomed the new committee.
