A double century by opener Imrul Kayes and an unbeaten ton by Mithun enabled Prime Bank South Zone to take huge 446 runs lead against table topper BCB North Zone on the 3rd day of the five-day match of the 2nd Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) final at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
On the third day (Sunday), Prime Bank SZ (271 runs in first innings) opened the 2nd innings and scored 410 for 3 in 90 overs at stumps on the day.
Opener Imrul Kayes hit double century scoring 204 runs off 266 balls with 20 fours and nine sixes while two down Mithun made an unbeaten century making 111 off 155 balls with 13 fours and five sixes.
In the third wicket stand, Imrul Kayes contributed 254 runs pairing with Mithun before Imru) was caught by Shuvashish Roy off a Forhad Reza delivery, taking the team total to 391 for 3 in 87.2 overs.
Shuvagata Hom scored not out 10 while Soumya Sarker added 42 runs before he was run out.
Forhad Reza claimed the prized wicket of Imrul Kayes conceding 34 runs in 8 overs.
Wicket hungry Taijul Islam, who claimed 8 wickets in the first innings, bowled Anamul Haque (21) conceding 109 runs in 27 overs.
