AIUB beat JU by 9 wkts

American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) beat Jahangirnagar University (JU) by nine wickets in a Group C T20 match of the Walton Refrigerator 2nd University Challenge Cup at BKSP ground-4 in Savar on Monday.
Batting first after winning the toss, JU were dismissed for 65 runs in 16.5 overs.
Mahmudul Hasan scored the team highest 16 runs while Imamul Mustakim and Baijid Amin added 13 and 11 runs respectively.
Tanvir Haider claimed five wickets for 8 runs in 2.5 overs to be adjudged man-of-the-match.
Kamrul Islam Rabbi captured two wickets for 12 runs while Tawhid Rana and Saikat Ali took one wicket each for 10 and 19 runs respectively.
Chasing 66 runs to win, AIUB easily reached the target in 10.5 overs losing one wicket, riding on Anamul Haque's unbeaten 51 runs off 35 balls with eight fours and two sixes.
Anisur Rahman added unbeaten 13 runs.
Habibullah Talukdar took the lone wicket for his side conceding 13 runs.
In the day's other Group A match at BKSP ground-2, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) beat Islamic University Kushtia (IUK) by 9 wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, IUK scored 97 for 7 in stipulated 20 overs.
Naem (14), Shamim (14), Bappy (not out 13), Rakib (13), Arif (not out 12) and Tamim (10) were the notable scorers for IUK.
Tanvir Ahmed claimed four wickets for 14 runs in his four over spell to be adjudged man-of-the-match.
Morsalin Bin Mortaja captured two wickets for 16 runs while Anjam Ahmed and Avishek Mitra took one wicket each for 8 and 19 runs respectively.
Chasing 98 runs, ULAB cantered to their target in 10.2 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Anjam Ahmed and skipper Hasanuzzam contributed 98 runs in the 2nd wicket stand to guide ULAB to victory.
Anjam Ahmed scored unbeaten 46 runs off 29 balls with six fours and a six while Hasanuzzaman added unbeaten 36 runs off 30 balls with four fours and a six.
Russell took the only wicket for 18 runs in two overs.
