A magnificent unbeaten century by Al-Amin enabled Prime Bank Cricket Club to cruise to a 59- run victory over Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Sangha in the second round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Tuesday at BKSP ground no 3 in Savar.
Chasing a massive winning target of 308 runs, Khelaghar found the chase too stiff in face of some tight bowling attacks by the Prime Bank bowlers and were finally dismissed at 248 in 47.1 overs.
Khelaghar faced an early batting jolt as they lost both their openers - Salauddin Pappu (37) and Rabiul Islam (1) inside 11 overs. However Nazmus Sadat (56) pairing with Amit Mujumder (39) stop the rot contributing 74 runs for the third wicket stand to take Khelaghar to a reasonable position.
When the important partnership was broken at the crucial stage Khelaghar failed to recover and wickets fell at regular intervals. Masum Khan (31), Nazimuddin (31) and Arifuzzaman (25) were the notable contributors for their side but failed to build any effective partnership to chase the mammoth target.
Nahidul Islam, Unmukt Chand and Rubel Hossain shared two wickets each conceding 31, 35a nd 35 runs respectively for Prime Bank.
Al Amin of Prime Bank was name the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
Earlier, Prime Bank Cricket Club opting to bat first rode on a magnificent unbeaten century by 23-old Al-Amin which helped his team to amass a challenging total of 307 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs.
Al Amin were in impressive form as he hammered 106 runs off 94 balls hitting nine boundaries and three over boundaries.
Ariful Haque (26 n.o), Sabbir Rahman (36), Zakir Hasan (50, Soumya Sarkar (39) also helped their side to set a challenging target for Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Sangha.
Shamsul Alam and Dolar Mahmud were the most successful bowlers as they claimed two wickets each conceding 62 and 67 runs respectively for the vanquished.
