Bangladesh Under-15 National Women's Football team will take on India Under-15 National Women's Football team in the final of the SAFF Women's Championship at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur today. The do-or-die match kicks-of at 2.00 pm. State-owned television channel BTV will telecast the match live from the big bowl.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start crushing Nepal by 6-0 goals in their opening match of the first phase at the same venue on December 17.
Bangladesh reached the final blanking Bhutan by 3-0 goals in their second match at the same venue on December 19.
Bangladesh maintained their all-win record defeating India by 3-0 goals in their third match at the same venue on December 21.
On the other hand, India started their first phase campaign with a happy note beating Bhutan by 3-0 goals in the first match at the same venue on December 17.
India confirmed their final berth thrashing Nepal by 10-0 goals in their second match at the same venue on December 19.
India conceded a 3-0 goals defeat by Bangladesh in their third match at the same venue on December 21.
Marking the ensuing gala final, a press conference was held at the conference room in the BFF House on Saturday.
Head Coach of Bangladesh National Women's Football team Golam Rabbani Choton, Captain of Bangladesh Under-15 National Women's Football team Maria Manda, Coach of India Under-15 National Women's Football team Maymol Rocky Nedugadan, Captain of India Under-15 National Women's Football team Bannya Kabiraj spoke at the conference.
Choton said, " My girls are playing for win in all the matches. Final is a different kind of match. My girls will present better brand of football in the final and clinch the title. They will perform their usual performance and win the match."
Maria said, " We shall be champions after performing well in the final. We shall retain our winning streak. We shall give hundred percent effort to win the match."
Maymol said, " I am happy that my side are going to play in the final. My girls will play the last match. They may earn gold or silver. Thus nothing is there to lose."
Bannya said, " We want to be champions. We shall play to win. We are not under pressure. We shall play attacking football tomorrow."
Media Manager of Bangladesh Football Federation Ahsan Ahmed said, " No ticket will be required to watch the final."
