One electrocuted in Satkhira

Abdur Rauf Gazi (50) was  electrocuted in Satkhira's Kaliganj upazila on Friday. The incident occurred  at Baruimahal village of Ratanpur union of the upazila. Witness Golam Rabbani said , Abdur Rouf was collecting juice by setting  bamboo  in a palm tree beside his house. During this time, the bamboo was connected to  power cable. He was electrocuted and died on the spot. Kaliganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Subir Dutta confirmed the matter.
Pry Education Fair inaugurated in Saidpur

Primary Education Fai  on the occasion of National Education Week - 2018 began  at  Saidpur in  Nilphamari on Wednesday.  Upazila Education Officer, Saidpur, organized the Fair. The fair was officially inaugurated at the upazila parishad premises . Saidpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Moksedul Momin inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. Vice Chairman of Saidpur Upazila Parishad Ajmal Hossain and Women Vice Chairman Raonak Jahan Renu were present as special guests. UNO] Bazlur Rashid presided over the inaugural ceremony of the Fair. Among others, Assistant Upazila Education Officer Ruhul Amin Pradhan, Mushrata Jahan Mili, Principal of Sunflower School and College Md  Mokhlesur Rahman Jewel, Inspector of Upazila Resource Center, Niranjan Shil, President of Bansbari Government Primary School SMC. Zobaidur Rahman Shaheen, president of various schools, president of SMC, head teacher and assistant teachers and students were present. In the two-day fair, 78 public primary schools with 12 stalls of different educational institutions including three clusters took part.

International Women's Day was  observed at Gafargaon  under Mymensingh  on Thursday.    A procession was brought out from Upazila Parishad in the morning. The procession paraded  various roads in this town. Later, a discussion meeting was held.   UNO Dr. Shamim Rahman  presided over the discussion meeting. Upazila Parishad Chairman Asraf Uddin Badal was the Chief Guest.  Upazila  Vice-Chairman Reshma Akter, upazila Project Implementation  Officer Rejaul Karim, Co-operative Officer Mir Kashem delivered their speeches in the meeting.
