Bangladesh's fasted woman Shirin Akter made a worse result in her 2nd games event--women's 200-meter sprint--as she finished last among 36 athletes with a timing of 26.17 seconds at the Carrara Stadium in Gold Coast on the day.Earlier, Shirin and country's fasted man Mesbah Ahmed were eliminated from the heats of their respective 100-meter sprints.
Among 26 athletes of Bangladesh contingent, participating in six disciplines of sports--athletics, swimming, shooting, boxing, weightlifting and wrestling--in the Gold Coast 2018, only shooter Abdullah Hel Baki earned a face-saving silver medal, the only medal for Bangladesh in the men's 10 meter air rifle last Sunday.
However, Bangladeshi shooters will compete in few more events in the next four day.
After the day's event, Bangladesh swimming, weightlifting and athletics teams completed games engagements with empty hands, two Bangladeshi boxers Robin Mia and Mohammad Al Amin returned home without participating the meet due to unpardonable mistake of team manager cum coach Kazi Abdul Mannan.

Ali Azmad will compete in men's freestyle 74 kgs on April 12 while Sherin Akter will compete in women's freestyle 68 kgs on Apr 13, both at the Carrara Sport and Leisure Center in Gold Coast.
