Arshad Ahmed Asad, Gafargaon
Bumper Boro paddy production  has been expected in Gafargaon Upazila this season.
The unique beauty has been filled in the fields of  this Upazila.  We can open our eyes and see  only paddy fields and paddy fields all around. The crops field is filled with green and green. The paddy fields are slovenly swing by air. The heads of the paddy plants are dangling in the same way. The unique picture of  15 unions and 1 Pourosava are the same picture. The areas of riverbeds , the green beauty is enhancing attraction . The whole area high-low , plain fields of paddy is the same scenery. In view of this scene we remember the poem "Dhankhet" of Palli Kobi  Jasim Uddin.
The farmers are passing very busy time to get bumper Boro paddy production. In the last season.  In this current season , insects ,diseases ,natural calamities don't harm their paddy fields. The farmers are in smiling face to see the crops in the fields. The farmers hope that the target of paddy production will pass the previous records if the natural calamity does not occur newly.  In the meantime, many paddy fields are going to ripe and some paddy fields have begun to bloom. Again some paddy fields are about to bloom.
The farmers have dreamt the future to see the bumper production of paddy fields. After harvesting paddy, selling paddy some will marry daughter off and some will marry sons.  They will buy clothes for families in the year, bear the expense of the study of the children. They will repay the loan, will meet up the demand of wives. The blessings of nature ,moderate rainfall in time , has become beneficial for paddy fields .At this, they have begun to dream. In the current season, the supply of electricity , fertilizer ,irrigation , pesticides and necessary agricultural input are available . So, the farmers are expected to get bumper paddy production.
Sources from agricultural office ,it is learnt that 23 thousand hectare land have been cultivated paddy in the current season.  In the last season ,bumper production and got due price ,the farmers of Gafargaon have planted Boro paddy in their fields with new hope. At present farmers have been protected from load shedding.
