Our children are the future of Bangladesh. They are to be properly nourished and educated so that in future they lead the country towards the long-cherished destination, for which our valiant freedom fighters sacrificed their lives. The children should be brought up to shoulder the responsibility of materialising their dream, where the people, irrespective of caste, creed, race or colour, will enjoy their rights.
Kochipata is a children juvenile magazine, edited and published by Aleya Bagum Alo. It started since 2010 and its formal publication started with registration in 2017. A competent editor and publisher Aleya Bagum Alo, in addition to her literary career, is deeply attached with child psychology. She is a friend of the underprivileged and handicapped. She has the mission: “We will proceed forward taking all children” Her positive approach and zeal to usher a new era for our budding generation encourages the creativity of children.
The present number Kochi Pata March 2018 (year 2nd : Number 1) inherits the previous numbers in spirit and subjects. Very much colourful and attractive (with four colour, art paper) it has the oath to uphold our glorious history and heritage, our identity as a free nation-our Language Movement, War of liberation, sacrifices of our martyrs, our religious and cultural heritage.
The content include story, poem, rhyme, feature, science fiction, child-health, child-painting, reminiscences, interview, comics, book review and some other topics.
Kochi Pata arranged a painting competition for the students of Fakirerpul Government Primary school, Dhaka on the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day and the International Mother Language Day 2018. The creative paintings of the art loving children have been printed in the magazine. The contents include a report of Monwar Husain on the Boimela. Farin Labibah, a child of 11, has written a book ‘Baba’ (Father) (published in the Boimela 2018) on her father, who died recently, has a place in the contents for inspiring the creativity of children. The budding artist Syed Anonto Mahammad's sketches should be appreciated for a bright future.
A mentally handicapped lady Salma with a child, brought to Dhaka and given treatment with the help of Banker Shamim Ahmad at the support of the editor, Kochi Pata.
It is remarkable that the monthly Kochi Pata includes such diverse topics of humanitarian approach and creativity, which the guardians of the children highly appreciate. Morality, humanistic outlook and creativity ‘welcoming all children’ is the voice of the contents.
The content includes writers: Zahanara Tofael, Rahima Aktar Mou, Monwar Husain, Shahed Biplob, Ahmed Kibriya, Muhammad Kabir Sarker, Sohel Bir, Shamim Sikdar, Shahnoor Islam Rafi, Muhammad Tafhimul Islam, Islam Torik, Saimon Sakib Hasan, Nithor Mahbub and Ushoshi Momen.
