Entertainment Desk :
Raazi, a period espionage film starring Indian actors Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, will not hit the screens in Pakistan. Distributors are barred from purchasing the film to release it in Pakistan.
"It is disappointing to see that films on certain subjects are being produced in India time and again," a senior distribution company official was quoted as saying in The Express Tribune.
"All our distributors are well aware about Alia's role in Raazi and so, no one is willing to purchase the film. Patriotism is another reason for distributors not being pushed to buy the film. Indian producers should know that all our distributors have unanimously decided to boycott such  films."
Set in the 1970s, two close friends Brigadier Syed (Shishir Sharma) and Hidayat Khan (Rajit Kapoor) decide to get their children, Sehmat (Alia Bhatt) and Iqbal (Vicky Kaushal), married out of the family bond.
However, the familial ties culminating into marriage is just like the surface of a river where the undercurrent is known once you take a dip. Here, Khan gets his daughter married and sends her off to Pakistan but the truth is she is an undercover agent.
Co-produced by Vineet Jain and Karan Johar, the film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's novel, Calling Sehmat.
Bengal Boi organizes its program 'Gaan Gaibar Dine' every month; this month, Bajpaie was their featured performer
Renowned musician of West Bengal Sahana Bajpaie returned to Bangladesh after 10 years to perform at "Gaan Gaibar Dine," held at Bengal Boi in Dhanmondi, Dhaka on Thursday.
After eight years of living in Bangladesh in 2000-2008, returning here was quite a melancholic experience for her. Ironically, 10 years back, she left Dhaka on the same day she returned - May 4.
Bengal Boi organizes its program "Gaan Gaibar Dine" every month; this month, Bajpaie was their featured performer.
The audience was eager to see her perform in the city of their soul once again. Her fans could hardly wait to have a glimpse of their favourite musician.
The show started with her singing without any instrument, instantly settling the audience.
Bangladeshi musicians Armin Musa and Shamantak Sinha later joined her, performing her famous tracks. Mesmerized by the performances, the audience joined in and sang along with her.
Bajpaie recently released her new singles, yet the audience were more keen to listen to her perform her old track, "Ekta chele."
"Ekta Chele" was the show stopper of the event; with this song, she bade Bangladesh farewell again.
During the show, Bajpaie encouraged the audience to read books, adding that she thought it was a great initiative of Bengal Boi to promote reading books and make the practice popular among the new generation.
