DU Correspondent :
Students moving against quota system in civil service on Wednesday paraded against ruling party activists, demanding security of their activists at dormitories.
About a thousand pro-movement students marched from Dhaka University's central library condemning "Chhatra League's threats" to two of their leaders.
They alleged, Nurul Huq Nur and Rashed Khan, frontline leaders of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakhhan Parishad, were subjected to intimidation by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists at Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall last night.
"Chhatra League men led by central Vice President Imtiaz Bulbul Bappi, Mohsin hall's Secretary Mehedi Hasan, and Institute of Fine Arts' Secretary Fahimul Islam threatened us last night," alleged Nurul Huq, a joint convener of the platform.
"We called the proctor and dialed the national helpline. But there was no response. The situation was later brought under control by Mohsin Hall's provost," he added.

Students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) brought out a protest procession denouncing the death threat on the leaders of quota reformists on the campus here today around 11.00 am.
The protest possession started from the Central Library yard under the banner of "Bangladesh Sad'haran Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad" (BSCASP) for denouncing the death threat on the co-conveners of BSCAP Nurul Haq Nuru and Rashed Khan by a leader of Central Chhatra League (BCL).
The possession paraded different streets, departments, and institutions on the campus and ended at Central Shaheed Minar premises through a brief gathering.
The convener of BSCASP JU unit Shakil Uzzaman said pointing to the Chhatra League, 'You cannot refrain the students from the movement just by giving this type of death threat. They are not afraid of death threat. We condemn for the death threat on the leaders of quota reformists'.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of BSCASP Khan Muntasir Arman urges to BCL men to abstain from this type of offensive speech.
