Colombia booked their second round berth after beating Senegal by one goal to nil in their last Group-H match at Samara in Russia on Thursday.
Mina of Colombia scored the match-winning goal by a header in the 74th minute of the game.
Colombia emerged as the Group-H champions bagging six points from three matches.
Meanwhile, Japan lost to Poland by a solitary goal in their Group-H match of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 at the Volgograd Arena in Russia on the same day.
Jan Bednarek of Poland scored the all-important goal in the 59th minute of the play.
Japan earned four points from three matches, while Poland gained three points from as many matches. Japan reached the second round.
