Bangladesh failed to register a clean sweep against host Ireland conceding a six-wicket defeat in the 3rd game at Pembroke Cricket Club ground in Dublin on Sunday.
Ireland chased a target of 152 for 4 in 20 overs as Isobel Joyce [22* off 14b; 2x4] managed required single run in the innings last ball off Jahanara Alam for the win after two successive losses in the series.
Ireland needed 11 runs in the last over. Skipper Laura Delany [46 off 38b; 5x4] was run out on 145/4 in 19.3 overs, leaving her side needs of seven off three balls. Isobel Joyce hit two, four and one runs in the last three balls off Jahanara Alam.
Top-scorer Gaby Lewis [50 off 31b; 7x4; 1x6] hit a half century for the winners and shared a partnership innings of 93 off 9.3 overs with Laura Delany in the 3rd wicket.
Panna Ghosh made the first breakthrough for Bangladesh dismissing Clare Shillington [21 off 22b; 4x6], was caught by Ayasha Rahman, on 28/1 in 5.5 overs before Cecelia Joyce was caught by Fahima Khatun off Nahida Akter on 30/2 in 7 overs from where Gaby Lewis and Laura Delany started their 3rd pair composures.
Nahida Akter( 1/20) and Panna Ghosh (1/29) got one wicket each for Bangladesh.
Sent in to bat first, Bangladesh posted 151 for 4 in 20 overs spurred with unbeaten Fargana Hoque's [66* off 47b; 6x4; 2x6] -- the highest individual score in the series-half century.
Coming into crease in the day's match, Bangladesh started a doughty show as opener Shamima Sultana [30 off 27b; 5x4] collected 14 in the first over with hammering three boundaries while Ayasha Rahman [27 off 26b; 3x4] started his batting with two successive boundaries in the 2nd overs of the innings.
Shamima and Ayasha paired for a solid partnership of 47 off 7 overs in the opening stand before Shamima was stumped by Mary Waldron off Ciara Metcalfe.
Ayasha continued with Fargana Hoque up to the team's collection of 77/2 in 11.1 overs before being run out.
Ireland skipper Laura Delany (1/19), Eimear Richardson (1/31) and Ciara Metcalfe (1/32) equally shared three wickets for the side.
Bangladesh, notably, conceded the defeat after seven successive victories in T20Is in a streak, which began in the successful six-nation Women's Asia Cup campaign for maiden multinational tournament title in Kula Lumpur earlier in June.
After the day's loss, Bangladesh ended the series with 2-1 margin victory ahead of their campaign in the Women's World T20 Qualifier in the Netherlands in July.
The Tigresses took 1-0 lead in the series beating Ireland by four wickets in the first match in a last ball thriller, requiring 1 off 1 run for chasing the target of 135 runs and FahimaKhatun [26* off 18b; 3x4] did that off Eimear Richardson to reach the win.
