The flood situation in the northern districts of Kurigram, Nilphamari and Lalmonirhat districts remained unchanged on Saturday.
The water level in the rivers of Brahmaputra, Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar fell slightly.
Several hundred villages were inundated. As a result, thousands of people were marooned.
People have been suffering from acute drinking water crisis, while water-borne diseases started to spread in different areas. Most of the clay-made houses collapsed.
The government and the non-government organizations are yet to initiate distribution of relief in the flood-affected areas.
Several potholes were created on the roads, while waste and decomposing animals clogged many areas.
Stuck in their homes under knee to waist-deep water, people in five flood-affected upazilas of  Lalmonirhat district could only witness roads going under water, but no relief supplies.
Sources said that the flood-affected people did not receive any emergency relief till Saturday, five days after their homes and crop fields were inundated by flood waters.
 "We are frightened now. We are starving and we are also helpless. We cannot supply any help to the flood-affected people as we didn't yet get any relief metarial from government and others," said Matiar Rahman, Member of Mohishkhocha Union Parishad under Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat.
People built high platforms in their homes with furniture on one another.
Many families left homes being compelled leaving one or two of their members behind to look after properties.
The local office of Water Development Board in Lalmonirhat has identified 30 more villages at risk of being inundated by flood waters anytime as the Teesta and the Dharla rivers continued to flow above danger levels.
The overall flood situation in the district remained unchanged on Saturday, although the water level in the Dharla River fell slightly.
The Dharla River is flowing 2cm above the danger level, and the rise of water in the Brahmaputra and Dudhkumar rivers continued.
Hundreds of villages in 30 unions were inundated in flood water, which marooned 60,000 families.
According to a source of Bangladesh Water Development Board, the water level has increased by 12cm in the Brahmaputra and 3cm in the Dudhkumar River in the last 24 hours.
District relief and rehabilitation office sources said that around 428 centres have been kept ready for sheltering the flood victims.
Our Kurigram Correspondent said water level of all the 16 rivers including the Dharla, Brahmaputra, Teesta, Dudkumer, Phulkumer which are flowing in Kurigram district are rising due to heavy rain in the last five days and onrush of water from upstream.
Relief and Rehabilitation Official (DRRO) of the district said 430 families of 21 villages in 9 unions have been marooned, 109 families became river erosion hit victims.
Kurigram Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sultana Pervin said, "I have already visited flood affected areas and have enough reliefs like dry food,corrugated tin,cash money and others.
Meanwhile, Jamuna rose close to danger level at Sariakandi in Bogura, Kazipur in Sirajganj, Sirajganj Sadar and Jamalpur.
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre under Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) sources said, the  Brahmaputa, Jamuna, Ganges and Padma are  in  rising  trend while the  rivers  of Upper  Meghna basin and South Eastern Hilly basin are in falling trend.
The Brahmaputa, Jamuna and, Ganges and Padma rivers may continue rising in next 48 hours.
The Surma and Kushiyara rivers in  the North Eastern  region of  the  country may continue falling in  next 48 hours.
As a  result  the  flood  situation in  some places  of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts may continue improving.
Flood situation may arise in low-lying areas of Kurigram, Gaibandha, Bogura, Jamalpur and Sirajganj within 24 hours.
