DU Correspondent :
Teachers and students of Law Department of Dhaka University (DU) on Monday formed a human-chain demanding release of a fellow law student Tariqul Islam  who was detained earlier by the law enforces for association with quota reform movement.
Over 250 students and teachers took part in the human-chain held on the premises of Kazi Motahar Hossain Building near Central Shahid Minar of the university.
Students of the department also boycotted Monday's exams and classes and it would continue until their fellow students' release.
Students demanded unconditional release of all arrested students and withdrawal of false cases filed against quota reformists' and ensure a safe campus.
In the human chain, Law Department Professor Asif Nazrul said, "BCL handed over Tariqul to police after attacking him for taking part in a movement which is logical. Later he was sued in an old case which was irrelevant, said Prof Nazrul.
"BCL attacked protesters along with police forces. So, such kinds of assaults must be stopped immediately and logical demands should be realised.
Tariqul's father Shafikul Islam, a former army officer said, "My son did nothing wrong, but he was detained unjust, so I want end of such kind of injustice.
