Rohingiya refugee shelters inaugurated in Chakmarkul, Cox`s Bazar

Omani new envoy Ta'eeb Salim Al Alawi inaugurated Oman-aided Rohingiya refugee shelters in Chakmarkul, Cox's Bazar to house more than 10000 Rohingiya families fearing the death of landslide and other natural calamities.
In the backlash of ethnic cleansing and atrocities perpetrated by Myanmar military force and Buddhist extremists against Muslim minority of Rohingiya in Rakhine State that had forced some 700000 Rohingiyas flee to neighbouring Muslim country Bangladesh since 25th August, 2017 across the border into Cox's Bazar which resulted in critical humanitarian emergency in the small land like Bangladesh.
The number now exceeds million according to unofficial sources. It is the generosity of Bangladesh government to host this violently persecuted vast displaced people with very few possessions.
This ill-fated Rohingiya Muslim minority greatly reliant on humanitarian assistance for safe shelters, food, sanitation and other life-saving needs. In response to this humanitarian crisis, Oman Charity Organization (OCO) being supported by the  Government of the Sultanate of Oman planned to build some 1000 mid-term Refugee shelters with minimum standard of living to house more than 10000 Rohingiya families who are under severe threat of death by landslide and heavy rainfall during monsoon in the slope of hilly terrain.
Oman Humanitarian Aid Programme has started building 1000 shelters that include Sanitary latrines, bathing cubicles, deep and shallow tube-wells, street lights and drinking water supplies.
The Oman Charitable Organization (OCO) plans to build hospital, mosque and Quran learning facilities for Rohingiya boys and girls.
Oman newly appointed diplomatic envoy Ta'eeb Salim Al Alawi inaugurated the completion of first phase of planned 1000 houses at Chakmarkul, Cox's Bazaar recently.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Officials of Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commission (RRRC), UNHCR, some members of Rohingiyas and host community as well.
Earlier, the Omani envoy met Mohd. Abul Kalam, the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) in Cox's Bazar and Kevin J. Allen, the Head of Emergency Operations of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Cox's Bazar who have highly commended the Omani Humanitarian Aid Programme for Rohingiya refugees in Bangladesh patronized by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, building 1000 safe Shelters for more than 10000 Rohingiya families there with minimum standard of living whose lives were threatened by frequent landslide, heavy rainfall and other natural disasters during monsoon.
