Four female travelers driving  two-wheeler  scooty r crossed Barishal on Saturday afternoon after ending six days tour in the region stressing on women empowerment.
'Travelettes of Bangladesh' organized this 'Bangladesh in the eyes of women' programme of the female travelers group named as 'Vramon Kanya' (Travel Girl), the first of its kind in this country.

Among them Nijhum returned back after visiting Patuakhali and Barguna for her educational cause.
They reached Barishal by driving scooty on August 31 on their journey of fifth phase started from. Dhaka on August 27.
During their visit the traveled  historical and remarkable places and coastal areas of Patuakhali, Barguna, Pirojpur, Jhalakathi districts including Kuakata sea beach, Rakhine populated areas, Guava cultivation garden, Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari etc..
They reached Barishal divisional city on Friday noon from Jhalakathhi, on way to visit Madaripur and Shariatpur to back Dhaka on Sunday September 2.
On Saturday noon at the ending part of their visit at Barishal region, the group exchanged views with the teenage students of class six and seven at Halima Khatun secondary School of the city.
There they discussed about history and liberation war of Bangladesh, prevention of early marriage,  health and food nutrition, problems  facing  during adolescence period, self defense  etc.
S M Fakhruzzaman, hedmaster of the school, the students exchanged their views openly and lively with the Vramon Kanyas and it inspired the girls to face their problems and risks.
Shuva, a girl student of class six of the school, said this programme will make us more courageous to face our personal and social problems.
Beethi, another student of the same class, said from exchanging views with the Vramon Kanya teams we learnt more and accurately about our adolescence period, which was not told us before.
Dr. Sakiya, team leader of Vramon Kanya group, said 'Travelettes of Bangladesh 'is not only just an ordinary online travel group, rather it's a platform of 18,000+ girls of Bangladesh.
It promotes empowerment of women by telling them, teaching them to raise their voices, going out of their home, speaking out, seeing the beauty of the country through their own eyes.
Sounds normal maybe, but being a Bangladeshi, where girls are taught to lower their gazes, be confined to their homes, that's actually saying something. Our main motto is: 'Empower women through traveling'. she added.
We believe, traveling broadens your outlook. If you can see the world for yourself, you are bound to take a step forward in your life, told Dr. Manoshi.
We are going to publish a magazine 'Travel Girl (Vramon Kanya) to celebrate one year of our group 'Travelettes of Bangladesh ', the group sources said.
