The main  aim of constructing the  this  outer ring road  was  to save the people of coastal areas of Chattagra m  as well as  resolve the alarming traffic congestions in the city, chairman added. He further said  this CORR  will be used as approach road of the   Karnaphluli tunnel  which will help to facilitate the transports of south Chattogram, Teknaf, Bandarban  to enter  in   Chattogram-Dhaka highway  through  ring road  without  entering  the main city .
CDA chairman further  said  Patenga is a beach resort for the inland and  foriegn tourists  and a tourism prospect areas  and  it is quite possible to  build up a  global standard tourism hub  within the 5 kilometers area  of the CORR from Patenga point    where about 10 thousand tourists  will have advantages  of  touring, sight seeing , walk-way,  sea cruising catering and  accommodations  at a time  with provisions of Kids Zone .
