Comilla Victorians will face Dhaka Dynamites in the gala final of the UCB 6th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city's Mirpur today. The final begins at 7.00 pm. GTV and Maasranga TV will telecast the match live from the arena.
Comilla Victorians stormed into the final after defeating Rangpur Riders by eight wickets in the 1st Qualifiers at the same venue on Monday last.
On the other hand, Dhaka Dynamites reached the 2nd Qualifiers after beating Chittagong Vikings by six wickets in the Eliminator phase at the same venue on the same day. Chittagong Vikings were eliminated from the 6th edition of the BPL T20 cricket.
Later, Dhaka Dynamites moved into the final of the country's shorter version cricket competition after defeating Rangpur Riders by five wickets in the 2nd Qualifiers at the same venue on Wednesday last.
Earlier, defending champions Rangpur Riders finished top in the points table securing 16 points from 12 matches. Comilla Victorians also gained 16 points from as many matches but by virtue of better run rate, Rangpur Riders took the top spot.
Chittagong Vikings took the third spot bagging 14 points from 12 games.
On the other hand, Dhaka Dynamites reached the play-off stage after getting 12 points from 12 matches.
Dhaka Dynamites (probable): Upul Tharanga, Sunil Narine, Rony Talukdar, Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Kieron Pollard, Nurul Hasan (Wicketkeeper), Andre Russell, Shuvagata Hom, Mahmudul Hasan, Qazi Onik, Rubel Hossain.
Comilla Victorians (probable): Tamim Iqbal, Evin Lewis, Anamul Haque (Wicketkeeper), Shamsur Rahman, Imrul Kayes (Captain), Thisara Perera, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mahedi Hasan, Liam Dawson/ Wahab Riaz, Sanjit Saha/Abu Hider.
