Publishing houses on Sunday, the second day of Amar Ekushey Book Fair, released around two dozens of new books including novels, memories and book of poems.Moreover, 50 new books published by the Bangla Academy, are now available in the fair. The academy is providing 30 percent discount while other publishers are giving 25 percent discount on the prices of books. Wi-Fi facilities will be available at the fair to see the online edition of books.According to update provided by Bangla Academy, Chaiyabithi Prakasani published a book on traveling named: Prithibir Pothe Pothe, Bangladesh Writers' Guild published a book on poems named: ek jhak jonakir kabbya, Adi Parakasoni published a book in memory of Humayun Ahmaed named: Kingbadonti Humayun and Swapna bayadhi bhram and onnayna. Besides, Charulipi Prakashon published a novel named: Natoker Meye, Bibash Prakashoni published book named: Neel khame bristhir chithi, Samoy Prakason's novel: Losing Bari and Otijjhya Prakasoni's novel Petkati Chandial.Anya Prokash-a leading publishing house- has published five books of Humayun Ahmed named: Kakaru, Jagar and Jerry, Beng Keno Eleng, Kani Dayni and Boka Razar Sonar Horin.Agami Prokash published 'Nishiddha' of Taslima Nasrin, Shahbagh-2013 of Shahaduzzaman, Joynab of Abul Hasnat Abdul Hai, Maya Britta of Jogen Chowdhury, Socrates of Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Desh Bibhag Firay Dekha of Ahmed Rafique and Tanaporen of Salina Hayat.Organisers say, 534 stalls have been allocated to 232 publishing houses at the Suhrawardy Udyan, among which 33 stalls will hold children books of 24 publishing houses. Besides, about 69 stalls will hold books of 43 other publishing houses on the academy premises. There is a little magazine corner with 55 publishing houses at the academy premises for the enthusiastic readers. It has been set up to remember late poet Khondokar Ashraf Hossain, vice-chancellor of Jatiya Kabi Nazrul Islam University in Mymensingh and former professor of Dhaka University. But most of the stalls remained still incomplete." We have completed 70 per cent work. Two to three more days will be required to complete the job, Atik Rahman, owner of Priyo Prokashani, said.  The book fair will remain open from 3pm to 9pm every day except holidays. On holidays, it would be open from 11am to 9pm; while on February 21, it would remain open from 8pm to 9pm.On International Mother Language Day and Martyrs' Day, the fair will remain open from 8am to 9pm on February 21.
