8 more killed in road crashes

At least eight persons, including a primary head teacher, were killed and 30 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Natore, at least two cattle traders were killed and six others seriously injured in a road accident at Moukhra of Boraigram municipality on Wednesday.  Moinuddin of Boraigram upazila.
The accident took place when a cattle-laden human hauler carrying eight persons plunged into roadside ditch in the afternoon as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two of them dead on the spot.
Dilip Kumar Das, Officer in-Charge of Boraigram Police Station confirmed the news media.
In Meherpur, a school teacher and Freedom Fighter named Aftab Ali was killed and his wife was also injured when a truck rammed them when they were crossing the road in Sadar Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred in front of the Upazila Parishad around 10am.
The deceased Atab Ali was the Headmaster of Dariapur Government Primary School in the Mujibnagar Upazila. He was also a freedom fighter.
Meherpur Sadar Police Station OC Shah Dara told matter to media.
In Barishal, a minor schoolgirl was killed when  a passenger bus hit her in Uzirpur upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased identified as Lamia Akter, 8, was the student of Class two at Narayanpur Government Primary School.
After her death, locals blocked the road and stopped the vehicular movement.
Police said, they are trying to remove agitated mob from the road.  
In Satkhira, a van driver named Ziyarul Islam,20, was killed when his vehicle overtuned in Kaliganj upazila of the district on Wednesday
Hafizur Rahman, Officer in Charge of Kaliganj Police confirmed the matter to the media. In Jhenaidah, a prestrian named Uzzal Biswas,24, was killed when a truck hit him in Kaliganj upazila of the district.
In Sylhet, a youth named Abdul Kaleque,30, was killed when a truck rammed him in Goaingate upazila of the district.
