Deepika Padukone gives insights about storyline of Chhapaak

Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of 2020. The actress has gone out of her way to play her part to perfection. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is based on the life of acid attack survivor and activist Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika's transformation as Malti in the film has already garnered a lot of curiosity and excitement. Recently, Deepika opened up about her character in Chhapaak during a recent interview and said that it's the toughest role of her career. The actress said, "Emotionally, it's been my toughest role to date. I had to dig really deep to do Laxmi justice." Queen Dee further added that the film tells a story about 'law, justice and survival'. Deepika also revealed that after reading the script, she was eagerly waiting to be part of the film. She said, "I was bursting to do it."
Produced by Deepika Padukone, Meghna Gulzar and Fox Star Studios, Chhapaak, has Vikrant Massey opposite the actress. The film is slated to release on January 10, 2020. Apart from Chhapaak, Deepika will be also seen in Kabir Khan's '83, alongside her husband Ranveer Singh.
