A huge plume of black smoke is seen rising into the sky after a bus caught into flames in a suspected arson attack in the capital\'s Gulistan area on Thursday.

At least nine buses were set on fire in separate places in the capital during the by-polls to the Dhaka-18 constituency on Thursday.
No casualty was reported and the fire service officials doused the fire.
Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room Russell Ahmed said the first bus was torched in front of the Madhumita Cinema hall at 12:35pm. The second one was set afire beside the Pir Yamini Market at 1:30pm.
Another bus was torched beside Katabon in Shahbagh area and another at Shahjahanpur of Khilgaon at 1:47pm.
Later, at 2:02pm, another bus was torched in front of the secretariat, the sixth one was burnt at Naya Bazar area around 2:28pm and the seventh one at Coca-Cola crossing of Bhatara at around 4:32pm.
Several units of firefighters extinguished the flames.
Sources at the DMP crime command and control centre said a BRTC double-decker bus was set afire in front of Pubali petrol pump of Motijheel at around 3pm and another vehicle was torched near the BNP headquarters around 2:05pm.
Besides, one each bus was set on fire at  near the National Press Club on Topkhana Road and near Golap Shah Mazar at Gulistan in the city, he said.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police said buses were also set on fire also near Paltan police station, near Pubali Petrol Pump close to Motijheel police station and in Bhatara.
The assailants carried out the attacks in the guise of passengers between 12:00pm and 4:30pm Thursday, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police spokesman Walid Hossain.
Police have collected security camera footage to identify the attackers and get to the masterminds behind the incidents, he said.
Talking to The New Nation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam said, ''We are trying to identify those who caused this incident. We think it was planned."
There may be political connection behind the incident, he added. He farther said we have no advance information about this.
A statement of DMP, signed by inspector Golam Rabbani of crime command and control centre, said some offenders belonging to opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party's front organisations set fire on the buses.
Maenwhile, police detained nine people from a procession organized by Jubo Dal, the youth wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, in Paltan area of Dhaka on Thursday.
The detention came after unidentified miscreants torched seven buses across the capital on Thursday noon.
Paltan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique said police in drives detained the men on suspicion of their involvement in the arson attacks.
