Pashcimbanga Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrives here on Thursday on a there-day visit which is expected to deepen the bond between the two countries, said an official at the Foreign Ministry. Though there was a bit uncertainty over her visit due to the ongoing political instability in Bangladesh, New Delhi is sending her considering the importance, said a diplomatic source.Earlier in September 2011, Mamata had cancelled her visit to Dhaka with then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, as she had claimed that Teesta water sharing would not protect the interest of Pashcimbanga. The Teesta pact could not be inked at that time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now giving much priority to Dhaka now and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has already visited Dhaka.Modi, during his maiden meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in New York, said he is very much serious about resolving the pending issues like the Teesta water sharing treaty and land boundary agreement (LBA) with Bangladesh.Trinamool MPs Dev and Moon Moon Sen, along with former party MP and renowned singer Kabir Suman will accompany Mamata during her visit, The Time Times of India reported on Monday. Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee is likely to be in her entourage.Singer Nachiketa, filmmaker Gautam Ghosh, poet Subodh Sarkar, singer Indranil Sen and actor Arindam Sil will also accompany the chief minister. Now Mamata looks willing to share Teesta water, as Bangladesh wants an equal water sharing of 40:40, said the report.According to officials here, Mamata will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali or State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and will discuss the Teesta water sharing issue.Mamata will be the chief guest at the Bhasa Divas programme on February 21, which has been recognised as the International Mother Language Day by Unesco to promote awareness on linguistics and cultural diversity and multilingualism.Mamata will be visiting Nazrul Institute and Banga Bandhu Sheikh Mujibur Memorial. She may also visit Bangladesh Parliament.Businesspeople like Harsh Neotia, JP Choudhury and Sanjay Budhia, are travelling with the CM and will accompany her to a meeting with Bangladesh business leaders.
