Defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will clash against defending runners-up Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in the final of the Federation Cup Football at Bangabandhu National Stadium today at 5:15 pm.
Addressing a press conference at BFF House on Wednesday noon, Sheikh Jamal DC head coach AKM Maruful Haque was hopeful that his side will play to defend the title as his players are quite fit to engage in their usual game.
"My players are fit and our concentration is to retain the title. We've to play our usual game in tomorrow's (Thursday) final."
"Of course, our opponents will play their best as we are accustomed to face always," the coach added.
Sheikh Jamal captain Nasir Uddin Chowdhury believed that his team has winning scorers as well as strength. They need to involve themselves fully according to their game plan, he said.
Expecting forceful attack from their opponents, he said: "The win will depend on our ability of implementation of tactics and techniques in the field."
On the other hand, Muktijoddha SKC coach Abu Yousuf admitted that Sheikh Jamal DC is undoubtedly a good team, but he said "we've come to play the final through facing challenges."
"We're expecting a spirited match and want to win the title. Sheikh Jamal is a tough opponent, but we're not afraid of them," he said.
Muktijoddha captain Enamul Haque wants to take a sweet revenge of their defeat in the final of the last edition against the same opponent.
"We lost to (Sheikh) Jamal (Dhanmondi Club) in the title deciding match of the previous edition. So, we hope to beat them to win the title this time," he said.
All-win Sheikh Jamal DC confirmed their final berth beating Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra by 2-1 goals in the first semifinal while unbeaten Muktijoddha SKC reached the final defeating Mohammedan Sporting Club by 4-3 goals in the second semifinal.
The price of ticket has been fixed at Tk 20 (gallery) and Tk 50 (VIP) for the final match.
Bangladesh Television (BTV) will telecast the final match live while Bangladesh Betar will broadcast the running commentary.
