With the day's feat, Sheikh Jamal DC now started their celebration for the league title securing 42 points from 17 matches, eleven points ahead of their nearest rivals--Mohammedan SC and Abahani Limited, who bagged 31 points each from 16 encounters. Brothers Union Club remained at 5th slot in the league table with 29 points from 17 ties..
In the day's match, Landing Darboe of Sheikh Jamal DC made the eighth hat-trick in the league and paved the way for the table toppers.
Gambian midfielder Landing Darboe put Jamal ahead in the 15th minute with a neat curved shot from the top of the box utilizing a back cut of his Nigerian attacking partner Emeka Darlington (1-0).
Three minutes later, Landing cut a lob for Emeka from the midfield and Emeka went past the onrushing Brothers Union goalie Biplob Bhattacharjee before placing the ball into the empty net (2-0).
Brothers Union's Nigerian forward Augustine Walson reduced the margin in the 31st minute by a curved free kick from the right edge of the box (2-1).

In the injury time of the first half, Emeka Darlington's long ranger crashed into the net after hitting the inside edge of the cross piece (4-1).
Landing Darboe completed the eighth hat-trick in the league in the 56th minute when Emeka fed him with a square pass from left corner of the box and Landing chipped the ball over onrushing Brothers goalie Biplob (5-1).
