Rain washes out final day of Australia-Slovakia tie

By AFP, Sydney

Rain washed out the dead reverse singles matches on the final day of Australia's Davis Cup World Group play-off with Slovakia in Sydney on Sunday.
Australia clinched their place in the 2017 World Group after taking an unassailable 3-0 lead when they won Saturday's doubles.
Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic put Australia in command with straight-set victories in Friday's singles before Sam Groth and John Peers won the doubles.
Australia, captained by Lleyton Hewitt, will play in the World Group for a fourth consecutive year in 2017.
Australia are second only to the United States on the all-time list of Davis Cup champions, having won the title 28 times.
