Sujaul Abedin was suspended after a primary investigation report of NCTB-formed probe body, said a handout issued by the Board in the evening.
Ministry officials, seeking anonymity, told The New Nation, Sujaul was the artist who drew a goat climbing a tree to eat mangoes in the grade-I Bangla textbook which drew widespread flak.
Earlier on Monday, Chief Editor Pritish Kumar Sarkar and Senior Expert Lana Humaira Khan of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) were put on 'special duty' based on the findings of a primary investigation.
Besides, the Secondary and Higher Secondary Divisions of the Education Ministry formed a three-member probe body to find out the people responsible for the mistakes.
