4th Convocation of UIU held

The 4th Convocation of the United International University (UIU) was held in the capital's bhatara on Saturday.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the programme while Chairman of University Grants Commission Professor Abdul Mannan was present as special guest.
Vice-Chancellor of Asia Pacific University Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury was the Convocation Speaker.
Chairman of Board of Trustees of the UIU Hasan Mahmood Raja and Vice-Chancellor Professor M Rezwan Khan spoke at the ceremony.
The education minister said, private universities must take measures to remove all the barriers to imparting quality higher education in their own interest.  
He also congratulated all the graduates and the guardians for their tireless endavour to achieve the success.
Nurul Islam Nahid urged the graduates to work for the country's overall development and to make it a developed country soon.  
A total of 1610 students from different disciplines were conferred undergraduate and graduate degrees. At the same time six meritorious students were awarded Gold Medals for their excellent results.    
The vice-chancellors of different public and private universities, deans and heads of the different faculties and departments, teachers, administrative staff, journalists and educationists attended the convocation programme.
