JL leader dead during scuffle in city

A Jubo League central committee member died during a scuffle in Motijheel area of Dhaka today.
The deceased Jahangir Alam, 45, suddenly became unconscious while having a heated scuffle in a four-storey building in Motijheel, Shiblee Noman, additional deputy commissioner (Motijheel), told The Daily Star.
Later, locals took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors pronounced him dead around 4:00pm, the police official said.
Police detained two persons - Jilani and his son Khorshed -- with whom Jahangir engaged in the scuffle.
The detainees claimed that they gave him [Jahangir] Tk 25 lakh for getting Chinese fabrics. Later, Jahangir neither could supply it nor return the money, they alleged.
ADC Noman said the reason behind the death could be known after autopsy.
