Gavaskar declines Imran Khan's invitation to join oath

Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan's oath-taking ceremony on August 18 as the Prime Minister, local media reported.
The former India batsman said despite his inability to join in the historic ceremony of the conflicting neighbors, he wished the newly elected head of the state all the luck. Imran Khan's invitation, Gavaskar said to India Today,
"As a cricketer, Imran Khan has visited India a number of times. He has interacted with Indians He understends India, so I have a lot of expectations from him as far as India's relations with Pakistan,
Other Indian cricketers like Kapil Dev and Navjot Singh Sidhu have also been invited on August 18th ceremony.
Former cricketer Navjot Sidhu accepted Mr. Khan's invitation
"Khan Saab too called me up for the event on Friday. We chatted for a few minutes. I congratulated and conveyed my best wishes to him, "Sidhu told Times of India.
