Kushum’s short story coming Ekushey book fair

In 2016, National Film Award winner actress Kushum Shikder's first poetry book titled Nil Café’r Kabbyo in Ekushey book fair. Writing this book she got ‘Citi-Ananda Alo Sahitya Puroshkar.’ On that year, she got the National Film Award in category of Best Actress to act in Goutam Ghosh’s movie Shankhachil. After receiving this award, she received honour from the President and Prime Minister. Kushum felt it as special honour for her.
While talking in this regard Kushum told this correspondent, “As an actress, it is really a great honour to me. Now I have to think before working anything because I have already got the National Award. I should keep its respect.”
Kushum Shikder has keen interest in writing. For this reason, she started to write three stories for compilation of a book to publish it on the occasion of coming Ekushey book fair.
She started its preparation for many days ago. She believes to finish writing within December. Then she will finalize the name of publishing house, she also said.
It is noted that Kushum acted first movie was late Khalid Mahmood Mithu’s Gohine Shobdo. Later she acted in Swapan directed movie Lal Tip. Emon was her co-actor in these two movies. But in movie Shonkhochil Proshenjit was Kushum’s co-actor. This movie also got the National Film Award in India. Many people do not know that Kushum is also expert in Nazrul songs and classical music. Besides completing 12 years course in Nazrul songs from Nazrul Academy, she also got training from Ustad Phul Mohammad and Ustad Morshed in classical music and Nazrul songs respectively. She has three musical albums.
Kushum started her career in showbiz after winning the crown of ‘Lux-Anandadhara Miss Photogenic 2002.’
Kushum acted first TV play was Arun Chowdhury’s Biyer Angti. Tareen, Mahfuz and Joy were her co-artistes in that play. Sohel Arman’s Tin Purush was her acted first TV serial.
In her voice, the song titled Nesha came into limelight among the music lovers.
