About 40 people, including a police officer, were detained on charge of acting irregularities in examination halls during the recruitment tests for assistant teachers in primary schools.
The law enforcers also recovered several electronic devices which they used for question papers forgery, from their bodies and houses.
In Satkhira, the law enforcers picked up 28 people from Kalaroa upazila in Satkhira on Friday morning for their alleged involvement in leaking question papers for recruitment tests.
Eighteen of them were students and eight their guardians and two are members of a fraud gang, said Lt Mahmudur Rahman, Company Commander of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB-6 and Detective Branch of Police jointly launched a drive at Singer Bhaban in the upazila around 5:30am and arrested them from the building where they gathered in the morning, he said.
During primary interrogation, the fraud gang confessed that they amassed Tk 12 lakh from the candidates of primary assistant teacher recruitment examinations and other job seekers, he added.
Meanwhile, police arrested four students from a mess in Pabna town on Friday morning as they were taking preparation to sit for primary teacher recruitment examinations through electronic devices.
The accused namely  Sakib Uddin, Abdus Sobhan, Anwar Hossain and Sanaullah Sany were sent to jail by a court, said Goutam Kumar Bishwas, Additional Superintendent of Pabna police.
In Pabna, the Police arrested eight people from different spots in the district for their alleged involvement in question paper leakage.        
Goutom Kumar Biswas said, "We have arrested four people from different parts of the districts and another four students from the examinations' halls. We have found them guilty as they used electronic devices to help the job seekers."
The other four students have not been identified yet.
Meanwhile, a mobile team arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector and awarded one month jail for doing unethical activities at Rashid Kishyan Biddhyatan Centre in Patuakhali district.
Executive Magistrate Nurul Hafiz said, the ASI Habibur Rahman was seen providing photocopy of the answer sheets to the job seekers during the examination.
"We asked him about his abnormal move. Primarily he denied it and sometimes later he admitted that he provided answer sheets. After getting all the documents I gave him one month jail," he said.
In Bhola, the syndicate members got huge amount of money form the job seekers. They also provided answer sheets to the candidates on the nose of the authorities concern.
A candidate wishing anonymity told The New Nation that he bought an answer sheets with form a member of question paper leakage for Tk 30,000.
"The syndicate member told me to carry the mobile phone into the examination hall and I did that. No one obstructed me in the entrance point. I solved at least 30 question through the message sent from outside the examination centre," he said.
A total of 24, 00,919 candidates applied for the 12,000 posts of assistant teachers of Primary schools across the country.
The government will take the examination in four steps. Yesterday was the first time examination.
