Bus-truck collision left three dead in Faridpur


Staff Reporter : A head-on collision between a bus and a truck has left three people dead and 12 others injured in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur at 8.20am on Tuesday.

The incident between Dhaka bound Chandra Paribahan bus and a truck,  took place in Purba Sadardi area in the upazila.

Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

Md Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga highway police said that the incident leaving two people, including the bus driver, dead on the spot.

Another died on way to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.

Among the injured, two were released after giving  primary treatment at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, while six others were admitted there.
Seriously injured four people were sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.

A betel trader, who was travelling in the truck, said the truck driver fell asleep which pushed the vehicles collision.

The OC said that the driver fled the scene soon after the incident.
