Initiate Insurance For Garment Workers
Garments sector is playing a crucial function in the economy of Bangladesh. There are over 6500 registered and over 500 un-registered garments and textile mills in which about 4 million workers are employed. About 80 per cent ($30.41 billion) of the country's foreign currency comes from this sector. All these data make us so proud that the economy of our country is getting rich day by day but it is a matter of great regret that, for whom our economy is growing up, we are not giving them the minimum safety, nor giving any support to their family in the corona pandemic.
I propose to the government to initiate life insurance for textile workers. As a result, if any unexpected accident occurs, the family of the victim will get at least minimum financial support, though there is no reparative of death. This will increase the manpower stability in RMG. On the other hand, pressure on the government to pay for the accidental death will also be decreased.
