BUET students halt protests

After nine days demonstration protesting the killing of Abrar Fahad murder, the students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have announced to suspend their programme.
The announcement was given on Tuesday at a media call on the campus.
They students, however, have said that they will not take part in any academic activities until the permanent expulsion of the arrested accused.
According to the announcement, a mass oath taking programme will be held today where teachers also will attend.
On October 7, Abrar, a second-year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of the University, was beaten to death.
A group of BCL BUET unit leaders and activists walloped Abrar to death for his social media post criticizing the recent Bangladesh-India deal on Sharing the Water of Feni River.
