100 hurt in Habiganj clash


UNB, Habiganj :
Around 100 people, including 12 with bullets, were injured in a fierce clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Shahpur village in Baniachang upazila on Saturday.
Liakat Ali, officer-in-charge of Baniachong Police Station said Mofajjal, 13, son of Ijjat Mia and Foyez, 8, son of Siddique Mia of the village locked into an altercation on Friday morning.
An arbitration was arranged on Saturday morning over the matter where the two sides got engaged in an altercation. At one stage, they attacked each other with guns and homemade weapons around 11:30am that left nearly 100 people injured.
On information, police rushed in and controlled the situation. The bullet injured people were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital. Additional police have been deployed in the area.
