3 day-long non-fiction book fair begins today at DU

The 7th edition of the non-fiction book fair will begin today on the premises of the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) to make the students and readers interested in reading non-fiction book.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof ASM Maksud Kamal will inaugurate the book fair as the chief guest today.

The main purpose of the non-fiction book fair is to increase familiarity of business, economy and research-based books among students and readers.

Bonik Barta and Business Studies Faculty of DU jointly organised the book fair.

The book fair will be started at 10 am everyday and it will continue till 8pm.

The visitors can purchase books with 25 per cent discount.

For the first time, the fair organisers are also introducing a “Non-fiction Book Award” this year of this fair.

Two selected books will receive the award at the closing ceremony on 28 December.

A total of 41 publishing houses and research organisations will exhibit their publications at the fair, organisers informed if at a press conference held at the faculty’s Professor Dr Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Hall.
