In a recent incident of altercation and confrontation among women outside Cafe Celebrita bar in Gulshan-2 of the capital, police have apprehended three individuals. The development was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon by Mohammad Harun Or Rashid, the chief of the Detective Branch (DB).
Chief Rashid disclosed, “A video capturing a skirmish among several women outside the bar gained traction on social media platforms recently.
Subsequently, a victim filed a formal complaint regarding the incident. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the accused individuals lacked the requisite legal permits for the consumption of alcohol.”
Furthermore, Rashid asserted, “Legal repercussions will also be pursued against the bar for furnishing alcohol to individuals without the mandated permits.”
Subsequently, following the retrieval of CCTV footage pertaining to the altercation, the three accused women were apprehended.
Rashid conveyed that comprehensive details regarding this incident will be elucidated in an upcoming press conference.
Earlier, on April 14, a video depicting a confrontation between a woman dressed in white attire and another woman adorned in a red saree outside a bar circulated widely on social media, particularly Facebook.
The footage captured the women engaged in a heated exchange, accompanied by vocal outbursts. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, the altercation persisted unabated.
