4 buses torched in capital

At least four passengers’ buses were torched in different parts of the capital on Sunday amid the blockade enforced by the BNP.

In Gulistan, unidentified miscreants set fire on a passenger bus in the capital yesterday afternoon.

According to sources, miscreants set fire to the bus of Victor Classic Paribahan, standing near BRTC bus depot, at around 3pm.

Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of fire service headquarters, confirmed the matter to the media.

Being informed, two units of fire service rushed to the spot and doused the fire, he said.

In Gabtoli, a bus was torched in front of the bus terminal at midnight on Saturday. On information, a fire engine went to the spot

around 11:12pm to bring the fire under control, according to Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

In Agargaon, a Bhuiyan Paribahan bus was set afire around 11:00pm near the Passport Office area.

Two fire engines were on the scene to douse the blaze.

Meanwhile, another bus was set ablaze near Jatrabari on Satuday night. .
