Another train is coming on Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route.
It will leave from Dhaka and reach Cox’s Bazar via Chittagong.
Passengers will take midway from Chittagong station.
Again leaving from Cox’s Bazar, it will drop passengers at Chittagong and travel to Dhaka.
This train is scheduled to be launched from January next.
However, the name of the train has not been decided yet.
This information was revealed by a reliable source of Railway Eastern Chittagong on Tuesday last.
According to railway sources, a train named ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ is currently running on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route.
It will also leave from Dhaka.
The new train will start running at the end of December this month. This decision has been taken considering the pressure and demand of passengers.
The train number from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar will be 815.
It will leave for Cox’s Bazar after stopping at Chittagong to pick up passengers.
The train number departing from Cox’s Bazar will be 816.
A railway official, who did not wish to be named, said that by the end of this month (December), it has been decided to launch one more train on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route.
Basically this decision is taken by considering the pressure and demand of the passenger.
However, the name and fare of this train has not been decided yet.
Only the time is fixed.
The train will leave from Dhaka at 6:30 am.
Chittagong will arrive at 11 am.
After half an hour, it will leave Chittagong at 11:30 am for Cox’s Bazar. The train will reach Cox’s Bazar between 3 pm and 3:30 pm.
Then the train will leave from Cox’s Bazar at 8 pm.
It will reach Chittagong at 12 midnight.
The train is scheduled to reach Dhaka early in the morning.
However, the fare up to any station has not been fixed.
At present, the only train named ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ is plying on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route.
It leaves Dhaka at 10:30 PM and reaches Chittagong at 3:40 PM.
After turning the engine, it left Chittagong railway station for Cox’s Bazar at 4 pm. Then reach Cox’s Bazar at 6:40 am.
In the ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ train, the chair fare is Tk 695.
The rent of AC chair is 1 thousand 325 taka, Snigdha (AC seat) class is 1 thousand 590 taka and the rent of AC berth (sleeping seat) is 2 thousand 380 taka.
Apart from this, passengers traveling from Chittagong Railway Station to Cox’s Bazar will be charged Tk 205 for Sobhan Chair, Tk 386 for Snigdha Class, Tk 466 for AC Seat and Tk 696 for AC Berth.Weekly closure of Cox’s Bazar Express from Dhaka on Monday and from Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
