Benazir-like wealthy people increased : BNP

Staff Reporter :
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Monday that the number of wealthy people in the country has increased, according to the Benazir (former Inspector General of Police) standard.

Recently, a daily newspaper published reports on Benazir Ahmed’s alleged corruption and lavish lifestyle.

Rizvi said it in a press conference held at BNP’s Nayapalton Central office.

Rizvi said, “These rich people, who are blessed by Sheikh Hasina, have killed and kinapped BNP’s thousands of leaders and activists”
“Besides, corruption in the name of megaprojects and looting banks is not now a fairy tale; it turns into a real story.”

He said, “It is true that there is a close relationship between corruption and those who exist at the apex of power structures.”

In the Awami regime, they become affluent people who control tender and syndicate with the blessing of the ruling quarter, he claimed. On the one hand, the Awami League and their oligarch are celebrating a lavish Eid occasion; on the other hand, there was no joy in Eid for the country’s poor and limited-income people, he added.

The poor people had celebrated this year’s Eid with ?starvation and unprecedented sorrows, he said.

The Awami League’s 15 years of misrule and embezzlement of people’s money put the country into a silent famine, Rizvi claimed.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General said the Awami League’s leaders are seeking mental peace by deceiving the country’s people.

“They also deceived the people of the country by holding a staged, one-sided, and dummy election.”

Rizvi further said that our beloved Bangladesh, which we achieved through a nine-month war against a Pakistani ruler in which 3 million people sacrificed their supreme lives, is being crushed under the feet of a tyrant.
