BFUJ launches campaign in support of its 8-point programme

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) on Sunday launched campaign in support of its eight-point programme, reports BSS.
BFUJ President Omar Faruque and Secretary General Dip Azad inaugurated the programme by distributing leaflets at BFUJ office, the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) and Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) here, said a BFUJ press release.
The eight-point of BFUJ includes immediate passage of Mass Media Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, amendment and implementation of the Ninth Wage Board Award, giving appointment letter to journalists in all media houses and regular payment of salary-allowance and arrears, formulating National Broadcasting Act, ensuring justice for killing and torturing of journalists, introducing retirement allowance / pension for unemployed journalists above 60 years and ensuring land allocation for housing project for journalists.
A meeting regarding the eight-point was held at BFUJ office on the Jatiya Press Club premises with BFUJ President Omar Faruque in the chair, said the release.
Former president of BFUJ Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, BFUJ vice president Madhusudan Mondal, joint secretary general Sheikh Mamunur Rashid, office secretary Sebika Rani, executive council members Ummul Wara Sweety, Nure Jannat Akter Sima and Sheikh Nazmul Haque were present, among others.
