Staff Reporter :
The ruling Awami League Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Dr. Mohammad Abdur Razzaque on Tuesday said the government has kept 20,000 BNP men in jail for keeping the country stable.

“Without keeping the BNP leaders and activists in jail, the country could be unstable,” the Agriculture Minister said it on Tuesday while giving an interview on a private television channel, Channel 24.

“Vehicles are now plying on roads during the BNP announced hartal,” the minister said and questioned whether the vehicles could ply on roads if 20,000 people were not kept in jail.

He said that they had no other way without following that path.
“The EC has repeatedly urged them to join to the polls.

They did not agree to the offer of consensus if they came to the election. There is no lack of efforts from Awami League to make the election free and fair,” Dr. Razzaque said.
