Body of missing Bagerhat van puller recovered after 5 days

The dead body of a missing van puller named Prohlad Kumar Das alias Bhola (45) was recovered from Khanjali Dighi (lake), adjacent to the holy shrine of the great saint Hazrat Peer Khaja Khanjahan Ali (peace be on him), 5 kilometers off Bagerhat district town by the police on Tuesday noon. On information Police of Bagerhat Model PS rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body. On seeing his wearing sweater, shirt and Lungi (a kind of loin-cloth) the dead body was identified by relatives. Deceased Bhola was the son of one Paritos Kumar Das hails from the village Sangdia under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district. On November 30 at noon Bhola came out from his house along with his van. But he did not return home. In this connection his wife Dipita Rani Das lodged a GD with Kachua PS at the night of December 01 as the plaintiff. On information of the recovery of the dead body eager people assembled at the eastern bank of the Dighi.
Sumana Aktar Juthi, a resident of the eastern bank of the Dighi told, on the day at about 8-30 am I went to the Ghat (a flight of steps leading down to the water level) of the eastern bank of the Dighi in order to wash the utensils and found a dead body floating in it (Dighi).
