A teenage girl stabbed to death after rape by miscreants in her house at Palash upazila of Narsingdi district on Friday night.
The deceased was a 12th grader of Ghorashal Musa Bin Hakim Degree College.
Quoting the deceased family members, police said the victim got married with one Sanjay Mitra two years ago. After two months of their marriage, she returned home due to misunderstanding between them. Since then, she has been living with her family and Sanjay used to visit her often.
On Friday night, Bina along with her family members returned home from Rath Yatra festival. At that time, the victim’s mother went to visit a local doctor near to their house and the victim went to her room to study.
Later, at around 9 pm the victim’s mother returned home and found the stripped and blood stained body of the teenage girl lying down on the ground. Locals then informed police.
Since the incident, victim’s husband went missing, they said.
Palash Police Station officer-in-charge Md Eliyas said being informed, police retrived the body from the spot and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“The body has several stabbed wounds in her chest and it was primarily assumed that miscreants rapped the victim first and then stabbed her to death,” said sub inspector of the police station, Samsul Haque.
Legal steps would be taken in this regard, the police officials added.
