Business Desk :
The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) has been postponed due to the upcoming 12th national polls, with the authorities considering organising it on the third week of January, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) source says.

The initial plan was to launch the fair on the first day of 2024.

On December 18, EPB held a meeting discussing the possibility of a polls-time atmosphere disrupting the event management, visitor density, and participation of sellers.

It made the initial decision to launch the fair on the third week of January.

However, the DITF will only start following an assessment of the post-election environment.

EPB Assistant Director Mohammad Abdul Halim said, “We are discussing the possibility to start the fair on January 20-22, but the date has not been finalised yet.”
