DMP arrests 22 for consuming, selling drugs

The members of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug raids arrested a total of 22 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday.
The DB in association with local police carried out the drives simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am of May 6, according to a DMP press release. In separate anti-drug raids, police seized huge drugs from their possessions, reports BSS.
During the anti-drug raids, police seized 10 grams and 54 puria (small packet) of heroin, 1.25 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 230 piece of contraband yaba tablets and 30 bottles of phensidyl syrup from their possessions, the press release added.
