E-commerce platform Evaly Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Rassel freed from Kashimpur Jail on Tuesday.
He walked out of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 in Gazipur on Monday afternoon, Jailer Md Tariqul Islam said on Tuesday afternoon.
He said Rassel was released after all documents related to his bail in all the cases reached the jail. After scrutinizing those, Rassel was permitted to walk of the Jail.
Earlier on September 16 of 2021, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin, also the Chairman of the e-commerce platform, in a fraud case.
On September 15 of the same year, a customer named Arif Baker filed a money laundering case with Gulshan Police Station accusing Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin of swindling money.
Subsequently, several cases were filed against the couple in different places of the country for allegedly cheating customers.
On Saturday a Dhaka court issued a travel ban on Evaly Chairman Shamima Nasrin and Managing Director Md Rassel.
Dhaka’s Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayesh passed the order after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had filed a petition to bar the duo from going abroad as part of its probe into the e-commerce platform’s alleged cheating with customers.
